Ofsted Inspection

Ofsted logo

Our last Ofsted inspection was in May 2015 when we were delighted to be judged as outstanding in all areas.

Some quotes from the inspection report were:

  • Children get an exceptionally good start to school life in the Reception classes.
  • Pupils make rapid progress as they move through the school. Standards [...] are well above average by the time they leave Key Stage 2.
  • Teachers are enthusiastic and have excellent subject knowledge.
  • Other adults, such as teaching assistants, who work alongside teachers are well trained and support pupils’ learning very effectively.
  • Pupils’ behaviour is exemplary. They are extremely helpful and polite to adults and each other.
  • Pupils are extremely enthusiastic about their learning and are keen to do well.
  • Pupils feel totally safe in school. They rightly attribute this to the care and attention of staff who ensure their safety and well being.
  • Under the calm, purposeful leadership of the headteacher, the quality of teaching has improved since the previous inspection and this has driven up standards.
  • The school’s values of respect, honesty, empathy, trustworthiness, kindness and support underpin all it does.

Leading Aspect Award

We are delighted to announce that, as part of the Learning Trust for Excellence, we have been awarded a Leading Aspect Award in recognition of the impact of the wide range of collaborative work taking place. The Leading Aspect Award is a national award that identifies and celebrates leading practice in education.

The award recognises the quality and commitment of all involved in the Learning Trust for Excellence It acknowledges the significant contribution the collaboration is having on improving teaching and learning in our schools. A range of people including teachers, parents, governors, pupils and Head teachers were interviewed as part of the verification process required in order to achieve the award.

Thank you to everybody who has been a part of this. We are so proud that the work we have done with the other schools and partners has had such a positive impact on us all, and most importantly our children.
